How To Choose The Perfect Planter

Hello my Plant Junkies!!!

You just brought the perfect plant baby home and now you need to find the perfect outfit for it. Styling your plant to look cohesive and flawless with your decor is a big deal and you will need a planter that is functional and also enhances your plant’s beauty.

First thing to take into consideration is size.

You want a planter that is only around 3 inches larger than your existing one and deep enough that you can make a good bed of fresh soil when potting your plant. If you don’t want to pot your plant you can also “fake pot” it which is essentially dropping the nursery plastic pot in your decorative planter without actually potting it. Some people prefer to “fake pot” when they want to have the freedom to change planters often and also some feel safer watering when the plant stays in the nursery plastic pot.

There are so many styles of planters available in a variety of materials.

The most popular ones are terracotta, concrete and fibreglass to name a few. When it comes to finishes, either glossy or matte and for sure the matte finish is the most popular one. I sell a lot of planters on a daily basis and my best sellers are by far the black ones. Even clients with very bright and airy interiors normally go for black ones as there is nothing more stylish than the black accents to enhance a beautifully decorated interior.

You can use low or high profile planters to create the design you want to achieve.

High profile planters are great when you wish to give your plant some extra height and I try to incorporate a mix and match of the styles I sell to create flow and dynamic. When picking planters, go for something that has your flavour and style. After all, your decor should be a mirror and representation of who you are.

Have a Plantastic day empowered by plants!!!

Xoxo. Izabela.
